Maramures - LEAP WITH FLOWERS

Day 1.


Departure from Cluj Napoca at 12 to Baia Mare. Make a short stop in Baia Mare (at around 15.30) for meals, then continue our way to Sapanta, where we visit the "Merry Cemetery".
Merry Cemetery is a cemetery in the village Săpânţa, Maramures county, famous for tombs crosses colorful naive paintings representing scenes from the life and occupation of persons buried there. In some crosses, there are even lines that are mentioned, often humorous tone, the persons concerned.
This cemetery is unusual distinction to most cultures people who consider death as a very solemn event. Sometimes special culture of this cemetery was made in connection with the Dacian culture, whose philosophy was based on calculation of immortality and that death was a cause for joy, that person reaching into another life better.
Cemetery has its origin in some crosses sculpted by Ioan Stan Patras. Thus, in 1935, Patras carved the first epitaph and since the 1960s, the whole cemetery was populated with about 800 such crosses, carved oak, became an outdoor museum of nature and a unique tourist attraction.
Around 19 we going to Sighet Memorial, where accommodation will take place.

Day 2


Early morning after breakfast (09:00), we intreptam to Maramures Museum. Although located in a town with 45,000 inhabitants, Maramures Museum of inestimable value Sighetu Marmatiei focuses on a much larger area - Maramures Country. Museum underwent various stages of development, but the representative is during the last three decades, when the rich and diverse, currently reaching some wards and many other things scattered all over the country Maramures. The main exhibition (ethnography) is organized in a modern exhibition design, ethnographic collections are divided into categories of culture and folk arts, occupations, household industry, textiles, rustic furniture, elements of folk architecture, textiles and fabrics, costumes, ceramic traditions. Ethnographic section Bogdan Voda Street. Exhibit a main gear and equipment related to traditional crafts (agricultural tools, tools related to body art, rugs, icons, masks, pottery, architectural elements). Air ethnographic section, called Maramures Village Museum is located Dobăieş Hill, in the eastern city, 300 m from road 18. Around the church of wood, brought from the village Oncesti, a real village develops typical Maramures. Its farms allow visitors to bring the true essence of folk architecture of Maramures Country as it was structured for centuries.
After visiting the museum we head towards the following objective:
Barsana Monastery and the monastery museum.
Belonging to the Bishopric of Maramures and Satmar, Barsana Monastery is located near the bank of Iza. Represents a remarkable monastic complex that is concentrated here in wood carving art of Maramures Country. The monastery contains several buildings, all made with great taste, under the guidance of elders Filofteia Oltean.
Monastery Church, located at about 100 meters from the elders and community cells, is 57 meters, 23 meters long and 12.5 meters wide and at its bottom is a beautiful chapel.
After visiting the monastery of Barsana intreptam us to Ieud. Here we visit: The oldest church in Maramures (Hill Church), built in 1364. The Bridge church have been preserved ancient objects or documents, among which stands out from Ieud Codex, found in Ieud Hill Church, considered the oldest text in Romanian. Each church has its own legend, well known by the village population and a past full of historical events. Their building was used oak and pine forests of the country Marmureşului.
Borsa, where the second will take place overnight. Accommodation will be made during the afternoon and optionally (depending on time left) take a walk to the waterfall horses. Bor is the tourist complex and lower the lift to take 45 minutes to the falls, the complex will be the road to career, all 45 minutes. Falls height is 100 meters and width of the base is 20 feet. The inclination varies between 45 and 100 degrees. The first length is 40 meters, the second length is 20 meters and the third length is 40 meters.

Day 3


After breakfast we intreptam to Cluj, but the route we stop at the following objectives:
The first stop will be in the village Cosbuc to visit the memorial house of the poet George Cosbuc.
In Dej will visit mine and will be a lunch break.
In the afternoon return will take place in Cluj Napoca.
